Sarah is a strength coach, writer, and entrepreneur. She was introduced to CrossFit by her best friend and fellow coach, Cara Sabin, while touring and performing together as ensemble members of The Seldoms, an issue-based dance company in Chicago. At the time, Sarah was working as a trainer for lululemon and other fitness studios, but quickly came to love the benefits and results of functional training.
As a life-long athlete and mover, Sarah is passionate about teaching people to train with purpose and learn the “why” behind the movement. CrossFit has empowered her to see opportunity in discomfort and redefine what strength looks and feels like. She loves seeing athletes take on new challenges and exceed expectations to become the best version of themselves.
Sarah has over a decade of experience in the health and wellness industry, both as a coach and manager. As a former head coach and communications manager at Defined Training, she led a diverse team and community for 5+ years. In 2020, she co-founded The Lunge Ladies, LLC, an all-women’s strength training group, advocating that women always have a place at the table—and on the training floor. Her writing experience includes copywriting and thought leadership for health and wellness organizations, content writing for employee experience, and ghostwriting for life sciences technology and strategic finance. She is currently participating in a sauna business accelerator program and working to complete her master’s in strategic communication at the University of Iowa.
